Cambodia’s annual import – export exhibition kicks off

More than three hundred businesses from 18 countries worldwide are participating at an international exhibition which opened in Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh on December 15.
More than three hundred businesses from 18 countries worldwide are participating at an international exhibition which opened in Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh on December 15.

Almost all ministries, sectors and provinces of the host country joined in the 8th Cambodia Import – Export and One Village One Product Exhibition, where they displayed their products and services in groups with specific themes to promote multilateral and bilateral trade.

According to organisers, the theme “One Village One Product” is to encourage the development of typical products in localities across the country.

Taking place on the sidelines of the exhibition are a forum on Cambodia’s journey towards the ASEAN Economic Community, a national summit on commercial activities, and a meeting to look into the development of the country’s products to enhance exports.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Cambodian Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Keat Chhon expressed his belief that the exhibition will offer a golden chance for regional entrepreneurs, manufacturers and investors to seek business opportunities. It is also an international trade forum to tighten bilateral and multilateral trade cooperation.

At the exhibition, Keat Chhon and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Anh Tuan cut the ribbon to inaugurate the booth of Vietnam.-VNA
