As many as 93 documents and artifacts relating to President Ho Chi Minh were presented to the Ho Chi Minh Museum in the central province of Thua Thien - Hue on August 29 on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
The offered artefacts include a silk-made portrait featuring President Ho Chi Minh and a “Dien Bien Soldier” badge awarded by Uncle Ho to Nguyen Tuong, a resident in Hue city, during the Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954.
Worthy of note is a draft covering what President Ho Chi Minh replied to queries raised by Japan’s four major newspapers about the US war in Vietnam which was donated by Duong Phuoc Thu, Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue Journalists’ Association.
This is the museum’s third reception of documents and artifacts on Uncle Ho from organizations and individuals this year, said Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tien Dung.
As many as 240 item were presented during the previous two series, on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 2) and President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19). They include a weaving portraying Uncle Ho made by teachers and students of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, nearly 150 stamps featuring the President’s image, and a wooden inlay portrait of the beloved national leader.
Over the past years, the museum has received over 12,000 precious documents and artefacts, which help visitors better understand about the life and revolutionary career of Uncle Ho, as well as the Vietnamese nation’s struggles for independence.-VNA
