China-ASEAN Expo to take place in Nanning in September

The 14th China–ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China–ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) will be held from September 12–15 in Nanning city, capital city of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Beijing (VNA) – The 14th China–ASEANExpo (CAEXPO) and the China–ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) willbe held from September 12–15 in Nanning city, capital city of China’s GuangxiZhuang Autonomous Region.

At a press conference in Beijing on July 10, Chinese Deputy Minister ofCommerce Qian Keming said that this year’s CAEXPO will have the theme of"Jointly Building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Promoting RegionalEconomic Integration with Tourism."

CAEXPO has well served as a bridge boostingeconomic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN, Qian said, adding thatChina remained ASEAN’s largest trade partner with total bilateral tradeturnover reaching 452.2 billion USD in 2016 and 195.6 billion USD in the firstfive months of 2017.

The Deputy Minister also added that China andASEAN have also fostered their cooperative ties in infrastructure andinvestment as well as regional economic integration. 

Zhang Xiaoqin, Vice Governor of Guangxi ZhuangAutonomous Region, said this year marks the 50th foundinganniversary of ASEAN and the year of China-ASEAN tourism cooperation, hopingthat it will help further promote cooperation potential between the two sides.

The annual event is expected to draw over10,000 visitors and feature 80 trade networking activities.-VNA
