The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Nov. 16 released a paper on China-ASEAN cooperation during the 1991-2011 period, saying two-way trade recorded a 37-fold increase over the past two decades and has maintained rapid growth momentum.
The value of bilateral trade jumped from 7.96 billion USD in 1991 to 292.78 billion USD in 2010, representing an average annual growth of more than 20 percent, the paper said.
In the first 10 months of this year, two-way trade reached 295.9 billion USD, up 25.7 percent year-on-year.
China is already the largest trade partner of ASEAN, while ASEAN is the third-largest trade partner of China .
With the present in-depth development of economic globalisation and regional integration, the future and destiny of the link between China and ASEAN countries is more relevant than ever, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
