Chinese President Xi Jin Ping and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak pledged to strengthen bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership during their meeting in China's Hainan province on March 27 prior to the 2 015 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA).
President Xi said China and Malaysia should maintain exchanges and communicate on issues of mutual interests, calling on both sides to expand cooperation in industrial parks, railways, finance, law enforcement, defence and security, among others.
He added that China will continue to support the building of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Community and ASEAN’s leading role in East Asian cooperation.
For his part, Najib Razak said Malaysia regards China as a diplomatic priority, voicing confidence that existing robust ties will continue to grow.
He said Malaysia will support China's Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiatives.
Besides, Malaysia is willing to enhance ASEAN-China cooperation during its rotating ASEAN Chair.-VNA
