The World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) chief has predicted China will emerge as the world’s largest destination in five to seven years.
Taleb Rifai, the UNWTO General Secretary, appeared on the Spanish national TV channel on January 20, one day after the opening of the nation’s International Tourism Fair.
He said China has strong appeal to tourists, especially with its huge diversity of culture, from culinary art to ancient heritage sites.
In addition, tourists are interested in those sites which make them feel comfortable and in this regard China always knows how to satisfy tourists, Rifai said.
