China’s Li Ning sponsors Vietnamese athletics

Chinese sports equipment producer Li Ning has inked a five-year sponsorship contract with the Vietnam Athletics Federation (VAF).

Hanoi (VNA) - Chinese sports equipment producer Li Ning has inked a five-year sponsorship contract with the Vietnam Athletics Federation (VAF).

The contract is valued at about 5 billion VND (217,000 USD) from 2016-21. Each year, Li Ning will sponsor some 1 billion VND (43,500 USD) for the national athletic team’s jerseys, shoes, hats and backpacks.

“It is the first time, Vietnamese athletics has received sufficient sponsorship. It will be a great driving force for athletes to train and compete to bring home glory,” Nguyen Manh Hung, Vice-General Secretary of the VAF, said.-VNA
