China ’s Jiangsu club won the championship title at the sixth international women’s volleyball tournament, the VTV – Binh Dien Cup 2012, which wrapped up in the Mekong delta province of Hau Giang on Feb. 26.
Victory was claimed after the Chinese club beat the host team VTV-Binh Dien-Long An with a final score of 3-0.
Jiangsu , the first foreign team to win the six-year-old cup, pocketed a cash prize worth 12,000 USD.
As the runner-up of the tournament, VTV Binh Dien-Long An received 5,000 USD. It was followed by Lien Viet Post Bank and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank).
The Australian national team was presented with the style award.
The week-long event was coorganised by Binh Dien Fertiliser JSC, Vietnam Television, the Vietnam Football Federation and Hau Giang province./.
