Chinese radio station establishes new network

China’s International Broadcasting Network (CIBN), run by China Radio International (CRI), was officially launched in Beijing on January 18.
China’s International Broadcasting Network (CIBN), run by China Radio International (CRI), was officially launched in Beijing on January 18.

CIBN is set to become China ’s first international multilingual communications station and will cater to audiences all over the world, thanks to the rapid development of the Internet and mobile communications technology.

The establishment of CIBN is in line with the development of the media industry and marks the development of CRI, Ma Weigong, Deputy Editor in Chief of CRI said, adding that CIBN will operate radio broadcasts, online services and network television.

First founded in 1941, CRI features 61 languages and has become the world's largest multilingual radio station , helping to promote understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and people all over the world./.
