Chinese satellite detects possible plane debris

The agency said that images were taken on March 9, the day after the plane went missing .

The suspected objects detected by the Chinese satellite were found at 105.63 degrees longitude East and 6.7 degrees latitude North. Their dimensions are 13 x 18 metres (43 by 59 feet), 14 x 19 metres (46 by 62 feet), and 24 x 22 metres (79 feet by 72 feet).

In an announcement on the Twitter on March 13, Malaysian Minister of Transport Hishammuddin Hussein said his country had sent an aircraft to the above-mentioned area to search for these objects.

On March 12, officials from China and Malaysia met in Beijing to discuss the ongoing search for the missing plane. The Chinese side pledged to continue supporting search and rescue activities.

The hunt for the aircraft has now entered into its sixth day, with 12 countries involved in the mission. Search zones have been expanded to mainland areas and waters surrounding Malaysia.-VNA
