Choir wins prize with folk songs

Vietnamese children’s choir Sol Art has won the Audience Prize at the 8 th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival in Wemigerode, Germany.
Vietnamese children’s choir Sol Art has won the Audience Prize at the 8 th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival in Wemigerode, Germany.

The 24-member choir also won a gold medal in the Folklore category together with China, Canada, the Republic of Korea and South Africa.

During the 15-minute performance, the choir introduced Vietnamese culture and agriculture in three folk songs from different regions of the country.

The festival is part of the INTERKULTUR organisation’s World Choir Games, which started in 1999.

This year’s event, which ran from July 17 to 21 drew 44 choirs with a total of 1,300 participants from 18 countries and territories.-VNA
