Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – Head of the GovernmentCommittee for Religious Affairs Vu Chien Thang and authorities of the centralThua Thien-Hue province visited and extended Christmas greetings to dignitariesof the Hue Archdiocese on December 20.

At the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s CommitteePhan Ngoc Tho highlighted the achievements made by the province this year and expressedthanks for the contributions made by Catholic dignitaries and followers.

He wished that the Catholic community would continue itssense of unity, contributing to local development.

Archbishop of the Hue Archdiocese Joseph Nguyen Chi Linh, who isalso President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam, affirmed that inthe spirit of solidarity, the local Catholic community will join hands in thecause of national growth.

On the occasion, the Huemunicipal chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee also held a meetingwith representatives from the Parish Pastoral Council, the Evangelical Churchof Vietnam, as well as both Catholic and Protestant followers.

In the town of Huong Thuy,local leaders visited and congratulated seven religious establishments andCatholic followers in the locality.

Local Catholic dignitaries vowedto continue calling on Catholics to follow Party policies and guidelines, and Statelaws to further contribute to the national cause.–VNA

Vietnam, IAEA comprehensively assess national nuclear power infrastructure

The delegation, led by Eric Mathet, Operational Lead, the IAEA’s Nuclear Infrastructure Development Section, evaluated the current status of Vietnam’s national nuclear infrastructure according to the assessment criteria outlined by the IAEA for Stage 2 – assessing the readiness of a country to invite bids or negotiate contracts for the construction of its first nuclear power plant.
