Classical show to celebrate Vietnam – Norway harmony

Renowned musicians from Vietnam and Norway will gather for a special cultural exchange celebrating the two countries’ friendship on April 17-18 in Hanoi.
Renowned musicians from Vietnam and Norway will gather for a specialcultural exchange celebrating the two countries’ friendship on April17-18 in Hanoi.

According to information releasedby the Vietnam Opera House on April 14, the event will feature theclassical conductor Thomas Rimul and performances by Vietnam’s Dao ToLoan and violist Nguyen Thien Minh and Norway’s baritone Halvor F.Melien.

The show will feature a symphony titled“Kieu”, written by Dang Hong Anh, recounting the ups and downs in thelife of Thuy Kieu, as originally told in the epic folk poem “The Tale ofKieu.” The original masterpiece was written in the old Nom languageby Nguyen Du, who was recognised by the World Peace Council as a globalcultural celebrity in 1965.

The artists at theexchange will perform other internationally famous musical works,including the Classical Symphony by Russian Sergei Prokofiev, Solveig’sSong by Norwegian Edvard Grieg, and a Concerto by German FelixMendelssohn.-VNA

Project on digital transformation in cultural sector approved

By 2030, the project targets the establishment of shared digital platforms across 100% of cultural sectors. All digitised cultural heritage will be standardised under the national data framework and shared in accordance with regulations, while 80% of public digital heritage assets are expected to receive digital identifiers to clarify ownership and management, encouraging organisations and individuals to do the same and support market development.
