Construction of tunnel on National Highway begins

The construction of a tunnel through the Ca Pass on National Highway 1A between central Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces started on December 28.

The construction of atunnel through the Ca Pass on National Highway 1A between central PhuYen and Khanh Hoa provinces started on December 28.

The projectis 13.4 km long, including the 4km tunnel. It is scheduled to becompleted in late 2016 and put into service in the beginning of 2017,helping shorten 8 kilometres in distance between the two provinces.

Itis built by the Lung Lo Construction Corporation under the DefenceMinistry with an investment of 15.6 trillion VND (742.9 million USD).The project was designed by Japanese consulting firm Nippon Koei.-VNA

Fuel taxes cut to 0% from April 16

Accordingly, the environmental protection tax on petrol (excluding ethanol), diesel, kerosene, mazut, and aviation fuel has been cut to 0 VND per litre. These products are also exempt from VAT declaration and payment, while still eligible for input VAT credit.
