Construction of a Vietnam-Japan friendship house began in the southern province of Long An on July 28, as part of activities marking the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Long An (VNA) – Construction of a Vietnam-Japan friendship house beganin the southern province of Long An on July 28, as part of activities markingthe 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

As part of the integrated Waterpoint urbanarea, the house covers a total area of nearly 7,000 sq.m. The project isdesigned to include various functional zones such as a cultural house,restaurants, an exhibition area, and miniature landscapes representing thecultural characteristics of Vietnam and Japan.

This project not only caters for people of Long An province and over 30,000 families the Waterpoint urban area in particular but also serves as a culturalexchange hub and a symbol of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam andJapan.

Following the ground-breaking ceremony, a heritage forest planting ceremony was held in Central Park subdivision within the urban area. The heritage forest covers 20,000 sq.m and simulates natural forests with hundredsof green trees and numerous open spaces designed to encourage outdooractivities and community engagement.

At the event, Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City OnoMasuo pledged to further push forward economic, socio-cultural ties betweenJapanese localities and Long An as well as southern provinces.

On the occasion, the provincial People'sCommittee opened a two-day photo exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties, showcasing images of local foreignactivities with various Japanese localities and traditional products fromVietnam and Japanese firms.

A memorandum of understanding was also signedbetween Long An province and B&Company Vietnam to boost bilateral trade andinvestment between Long An and various Japanese localities, organisations andbusinesses./.

Vietnam Red Cross launches emergency aid for storm-hit provinces

Vietnamese, Chinese border guards coordinate to promote legal awareness among residents

During the four-day programme, thousands of leaflets were distributed, covering topics such as border management agreements and protocols, the agreement on regulations for management of the Vietnam–China land border, immigration and customs laws, border gate management, and measures to combat smuggling and trade fraud, as well as the importance of safeguarding national sovereignty and border security.

Breeding cows presented to poor households along Vietnam–Cambodia border

Tuyen Quang works hard to maximise state revenue in 2025

Tuyen Quang’s state budget revenue was estimated at more than 5.55 trillion VND (210.8 million USD) in the first 10 months of 2025, reaching 91% of the target assigned by the Prime Minister and 62.5% of the plan set by the provincial People’s Committee.
