The seventh Cross-Straits Economic, Trade and Cultural Forum (CSETCF-7) will take place in Sichuan province’s Chengdu city on May 6-8.
Wu Poh-hsiung, Honorary Chairman of the Kuomintang Party (KMT) will lead the Taiwanese delegation to the forum, according to Fan Liqing, spokesperson for the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office.
High on the forum’s agenda will be mainland China's development blueprint for the 12th five-year period and Taiwan's "Golden Decade" plan.
The delegates will also discuss the implementation of the Cross-Straits Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement, educational and cultural cooperation as well as youth exchanges in the near future.
Organised for the first time by the KMT and the Communist Party of China in 2006, this annual event will draw the participation of experts from both sides in industrial and commercial circles along with representatives working in the fields of culture and education./.
