Culture helps cement Vietnam-Slovakia ties

The deal was signedduring a visit by Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and TourismHoang Tuan Anh to Slovakia from May 14-17 on the occasion of thenations’ 65th anniversary of relations.

Hoang TuanAnh and his Slovak counterpart Marek Madaric shared the view that the 65-yearfriendship is a foundation for the countries to promote theirmulti-faceted cooperation, including in culture, sports and tourism.

They mulled over concrete measures to realise the cultural cooperationagreement through 2020 such as organising Vietnamese and SlovakianCulture Days in the other country, and exchanging arts troupes.

The Vietnamese minister was also received by Slovak Prime MinisterRobert Fico, who stressed the need to promote Vietnam’s images in hiscountry and pledged to encourage Slovak journalists to visit Vietnam forthe purpose.

During his stay, Minister Anh attendedthe Vietnamese Culture Day in Slovakia with a highlight being a photoexhibition on Vietnam’s beauty and a performance by Vietnameseartists.-VNA
