Custom of celebrating Tet of the Tay ethnic group in Binh Lieu
When peach and apricot blossom petals bloom, signalling the arrival of spring, is also the time when ethnic minorities in Binh Lieu district in Quang Ninh province prepare to welcome in the Lunar New Year.
The Pa Then people are one of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam and primarily inhabit the northern provinces of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang. Over many generations, the Pa Then people have formed and preserved a diverse and rich culture, most notably a tradition of brocade weaving. This unique cultural feature strongly reflects their spiritual lives and is also a great source of pride.
The Buckwheat Flower Festival has returned for an eighth time in Dong Van district in the northernmost province of Ha Giang, and has become a magnet for tourists from far and wide.
