Da Lat hectic with myriad festive activities

As part of the Da Lat Culture Tourism Week 2013 that will last until December 31, the fair accommodates 600 booths of 300 domestic businesses and four foreign organisations, showcasing farm produce, handicrafts, furniture, consumer goods and electronics, among others.

The same day, the Lam Dong provincial investment, trade and tourism promotion centre put into operation an information centre at Xuan Huong park, Tran Quoc Toan street, Da Lat city.

The centre will receive visitors’ feedback on services in the city and partner with local agencies to help visitors settle problems they encounter.

A series of activities will be held during the long-awaited event, including the fifth Da Lat Flower Festival, a ceremony to launch the 2014 Central Highlands-Da Lat National Tourism Year, and a festival to mark the 120th founding anniversary of Da Lat, which was built by the French in the late 19th century with French architecture and culture.

A carnival dedicated to flowers and horticulture – a key economic sector of the region will begin the flower festival on December 28.

The event will include an art and music performance highlighting the diverse culture of ethnic groups living in the Central Highlands.

An exhibition on the natural beauty and tourist attractions of Da Lat and the region are part of the event.

The 2014 National Tourism Year, themed “High Mountains and Thick Forests of the Central Highlands”, will take place in Lam Dong and other provinces throughout the next year.-VNA
