Da Nang int’l marathon to make a splash

More than 42,000 athletes along with tourists and locals will take part in an international marathon which is expected to make a splash in the central coastal city of Da Nang on August 31.
More than 42,000 athletes along with tourists and locals will take partin an international marathon which is expected to make a splash in thecentral coastal city of Da Nang on August 31.

Participants will compete in three categories: full marathon (42.195km), half marathon (21.975km) and a 5km fun run.

They will also have opportunities to partake in other activities suchas tours, exhibitions, a gala dinner, and charitable deeds.

With the organisation of such major event, Vietnam has officially becomethe 97th member of the Association of International Marathon andDistance Races (AIMS).

Last year, the event drew 4,000 attendants both at home and abroad.-VNA

A festival of this scale can provide more performance opportunities while enabling Vietnamese and international musicians and artists from different generations to meet, learn and connect.
