The SOS children’s village in the central city of Da Nang celebrated its 20th anniversary on December 25.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Doan Mau Diep, who is also President of Vietnam SOS Children’s Village and Siddhartha Kaul, President of SOS Children’s Village International.
Addressing at the event, Diep praised the achievements made by the village over the past 20 years and its contribution to the overall development of the local community.
He said he hopes the Da Nang SOS Children’s Village will be an ideal model on bringing up helpless orphans and disadvantaged youngsters.
The village has been home to 371 orphans from Da Nang and the neighbouring provinces of Quang Nam , Quang Ngai and Kon Tum.-VNA
