Hanoi (VNA) – A national-scalepainting contest organised by the Danish Embassy in Vietnam awarded winners ata ceremony in Hanoi on December 1.

The initiative, which asked Vietnamesechildren to paint their dreams, is part of a cultural exchange, themed “Denmarkin your eyes”, to mark 46 years of Vietnam – Denmark diplomatic ties (November25, 1971 - 2017).

Opening in last August, the contestattracted the participant of 800 school children, and prizes were awarded to 63.Do Khanh Linh, a third grader at the Thanh Hoa-based Le Van Tam primary school,seized the special prize consisting of a Canon camera and a Lego set.

The twofirst prizes went to Nguyen Minh Hoang from Hanoi, who is in fourth grade, andVu Huyen Phuong, a third grader from Bac Giang.

Addressing the award ceremony, DanishAmbassador to Vietnam Charlotte Laursen emphasised her impression of thecreativity of the young competitors.

She said she is happy that the eventenables children to express their imagination.

President of the Vietnam – DenmarkFriendship Association Tran Hong Ha said the painting competition and othermusic and art exchanges this year reflect the extent of the two countries’relations, which cover not only trade-investment but also culture, education,and environment.-VNA
