As the National Assembly is deliberating the landmark North-South high-speed railway project, domestic enterprises are stepping forward with bold commitments to contribute to the 67.34-billion USD project.

The North-South high-speed railway project, spanning 1,541 km, with 60% of the route consisting of bridges and the remainder made up of ground and tunnels, will provide a significant opportunity for domestic contractors.

A joint venture between Vietnamese infrastructure developer Deo Ca Group JSC and Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company (PetroTrade) has been allowed to develop a railway project linking the two countries.

A consortium has proposed a railway running 103 kilometres through Vietnam’s central provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh that border Laos.

The joint venture among Deo Ca Group, Hai Thach Investment Construction JSC and 194 Construction Investment Corporation was named the investor of the Cam Lam-Vinh Hao Highway – a section of the North-South Expressway.
