Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has urged theJardine Matheson Group of the UK to expand investment in Vietnam, suggestingpotential areas such as infrastructure, energy, support industry and tourism.

Ata reception for the group’s chairman and managing director Ben Keswick in Hanoion September 10, Deputy PM said Vietnam is restructuring State-ownedenterprises and groups, which bring many opportunities for internationalinvestors.

“TheVietnamese government and agencies will continue to create favourableconditions for foreign investors such as Jardine Matheson Group to expand theirproduction, business and investment in Vietnam,” Dung said.

Hetook the occasion to express joy at the development of the Vietnam-UK strategicpartnership, particularly the growing economic, trade and investment ties. Bilateraltrade between the two countries rose 9.5 percent to reach 6.74 billion USD in2018.

Keswickagreed with the host that Vietnam has great potential and offers many opportunitiesfor investors with commitment to long-term investment.

Heappreciated the Vietnamese government’s policies to attract investment andimprove business environment, and affirmed that his group will continue toexpand its presence in Vietnam while studying new possibilities in areas ofVietnam’s priority.-VNA
