HCM City (VNA) – Aphoto exhibition on Saigon – from feudal urban area to western city opened inHo Chi Minh City on January 3, on the occasion of the 74th anniversary ofVietnam Archives Day.
On display are nearly 200photos and documents collected from individuals, researchers and the NationalArchives Centre II, which are introduced to the public for the first time.
Speaking at the openingceremony, Director of the National Archivesof Vietnam Dang Thanh Tung said the event aims to introduce historical,cultural and scientific values of archived materials about the transformationof Saigon, Gia Dinh and Ho Chi Minh City two centuries ago, contributing toaffirming the role and position of Vietnam’s archives sector.
The exhibition is open tovisitors for free./.
HCM City eyes 8.5 million international visitors in 2019
Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism authorities will focus on marketing and promotion campaigns to attract more foreign tourists this year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
