The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has recently proposed a number of new regulations on Internet resource management, including the national domain name ".vn".
Vietnam has more than 610,000 '.vn' domain names after 30 years of development, ranking second in the ASEAN region, 10th in the Asia-Pacific and 40th in the world, according to the Vietnam Internet Centre (VNNIC).
The Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC)’s automatic monitoring system has so far detected more than 450 domain names, including 357 international ones, with signs of violation related to e-commerce and banking.
Customers who want to use Vietnamese domain names can register through registrars instead of registering with the Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC) from April 15.
More than 106,300 new ".vn" domain names were registered in the first 11 months of this year, bringing the total number of ".vn" domain names to 343, 370, a year-on-year increase of 16.4 percent.
