Forced to close down by the severe flood late last year, Don Mueang Airport is now ready to resume its service on March 6, having undergone a 1.6 billion-THB recovery.
According to the Airports of Thailand (AoT), the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand inspected Don Mueang Airport’s aviation safety standards and found that the airport is ready in terms of air navigation services equipment.
Additionally, the runway, taxiway, apron, electrical system, Terminal 1, facilities, parking lot and retail shops are all ready to provide services to passengers going through the airport.
In collaboration with Mahidol University’s Health Department and the BMA Health Department, the AoT also carried out environmental health procedures on the airport by sanitising the airport grounds and eliminate odors in compliance with universal standard and make sure no residual toxins remain in Don Mueang Airport.
Meanwhile, Nok Air CEO Patee Sarasin revealed that Nok Air will relocate its operation base back to Don Mueang and will cease all operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Nok Air services at Don Mueang Airport will commence on March 6. The low cost airline will provide 82 flights daily as usual./.
