Dong Nai (VNA) – The southernprovince of Dong Nai has lured 16 foreign direct investment (FDI) projectsworth almost 163 million USD since the start of the year, announced the provincialDepartment of Planning and Investment.

Of the investment, 126.7 million USD was registeredto pour into seven new projects and the remainder (36.2 million USD) was addedto nine existing projects.

The new projects mainly came from theRepublic of Korea (RoK), Japan, Singapore, British Virgin Islands and Germany.

According to the Department of Planning andInvestment, FDI projects invested in Dong Nai province recently focus on itsprioritised fields such as high technology, supporting industry andenvironmentally friendly projects.

By February 15, a total of 1,671 FDI projectshad been invested in the province with a combined capital of 30.46 billion USD,including 1,260 valid projects worth 25.83 billion USD.

These projects came from 44 countries andterritories, with the RoK, Taiwan (China) and Japan being the leadinginvestors.-VNA

CAAV proposes tax cuts, financial support for airlines

These include a proposal to exempt 100% of the environmental protection tax on aviation fuel until the end of May this year, and to add aviation fuel to the list of goods eligible for a reduced value-added tax (VAT) from 10% to a lower appropriate rate.

Total market sales by the end of February reached 46,153 units, up 39% compared with the same period last year.

VAMA auto sales fell sharply in February

Of the total sales, passenger cars accounted for the largest share with 12,376 units, down 53% month-on-month. Commercial vehicles followed with 6,542 units, a decrease of 37%, while 360 specialised vehicles were sold, down 22% from the previous month.
