A team from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) beat its Vietnamese rival 3-1 on March 29 to become the champion of the VTV-Binh Dien International Women's Volleyball Cup, held in central Quang Tri province.
The DPRK's 4.25 Sports Club defeated the host LienVietPostBank 25-23, 18-25, 25-23, and 25-21 in the final match.
The 4.25 Sports Club won all six of its matches during the tournament.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's Astana defeated Vietnam's VTV Binh Dien Long An 3-1 to claim the third place.
Team Vietinbank from Vietnam won against China's Fujian 3-1 to finish in fifth place, while Tien Nong Thanh Hoa took the seventh spot after defeating Japan's Tenri University 3-1.
The annual competition kicked off on March 21 with the participation of four leading Vietnamese teams and five international teams from China, DPRK, Japan, Kazakhstan and Malaysia.-VNA
