Veteran Dutch footballer Edgar David is visiting Ho Chi Minh City as an ambassador for Tiger Street Football 2012, an international tournament for street football players.
After meeting Vietnamese fans on Sept. 28, he will enjoy matches in the final round of the tournament at September 23 Park.
Four local teams that topped the national tournament will compete against champions from Brazil, Argentina, Malaysia, China, Singapore and Thailand for total prize money of 1 billion VND (47,960 USD).
David, born in 1973, started his career at Ajax Amsterdam at the age of 18. He has played for Italy's AC Milan and Juventus, Spain 's Barcelona and England's Tottenham Hotspur.
He is well known for his masterful skill and speed. During his career, he played 74 times for the Netherlands at international level. He was chosen to be put on a list of 100 greatest living footballers of FIFA by Brazil's Pele in 2004.-VNA
