A software that helps detect growth and autism spectrum disorders early will be introduced at an event for autistic children on October 11 at the Archemedes Secondary School in Hanoi.

The software, named A365, will also provide parents, caretakers and medical staff with information and give them advice on early interventions in order to build appropriate intervention programmes.

It was developed as part of a project on smart care for children with autism by the Centre for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP) and the Vietnam Autism Network with financial support from the Grand Challenges Canada.

To use the software, medical staff and parents need to register and complete assessment tests to gain access to information and intervention videos related to autism.

Autism has become a major concern among society as the number of children with autism in Vietnam is increasing at an alarming rate. It is estimated that there are now 160,000 autistic people in Vietnam.

The early detection of autism is urgent and crucial to provide children with effective intervention opportunities, helping them integrate into society.-VNA
