E-government data centre project kicks off

A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Aug. 7 to kickoff a joint Vietnam-Korean e-government project to mount a Vietnam Government Data Centre on the internet.
A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Aug. 7 to kickoff a joint Vietnam-Korean e-government project to mount a Vietnam Government Data Centre on the internet.

The effort is being carried out by the Office of the Vietnamese Government and the Ministry of Administration and Public Security of the Republic of Korea (RoK).

In the first phase, the two sides will coordinate in conducting a feasibility study report for the project, expected to be completed within 10 weeks.

Earlier, Minister-Chairman of the Vietnamese Government’s Office Nguyen Xuan Phuc received RoK Deputy Minister of Administration and Public Security Kang Byung Kyu, who is on a working visit to Vietnam .

The RoK Minister expressed his hope that the RoK’s experiences in building a similar centre would be useful for Vietnam .

He also said that the RoK is willing to cooperate with Vietnam in training technicians to operate the centre./.
