Entertainment activities to be suspended in memory of President

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on September 24 sent a notice to ministries, people’s committees of cities and provinces, and other state bodies nationwide requesting the cancellation of entertainment activities in memory of late President Tran Dai Quang.

Hanoi(VNA) – The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on September 24 sent anotice to ministries, people’s committees of cities and provinces, and other statebodies nationwide requesting the cancellation of entertainment activities inmemory of late President Tran Dai Quang.

All celebrations, artperformances, sport events, and recreational activities are required to be stoppedduring the national mourning on September 26-27 while flags will fly athalf-mast at State and overseas representative offices.

The respect-payingceremony will start at 7am on September 26 at the National Funeral Hall on 5Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi.

The memorial service will then be held at 7:30am on September 27 also at the National Funeral Hall in Hanoi. Theburial ceremony will subsequently take place at 3:30pm the same day, in thePresident's native Quang Thien commune, Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province.

At the same time, respect-paying and memorial ceremonies for President Tran DaiQuang will also be held at the Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City and the Hallof the People’s Committee of Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province.

PresidentQuang passed away at 10:05am on September 21 in Hanoi at the age of 62.

Accordingto the Board of Healthcare Services for Senior Officials, the President died atthe Military Central Hospital 108 due to serious illness.

Throughouthis working life, Quang made many contributions to the glorious revolutionarycause of the Party and the nation. He was awarded with many noble orders andmedals, as well as an insignia for 30 years of Party membership.

Moscow to host Vietnam Culture Festival for first time

Photo exhibition highlights Vietnam–Israel cultural ties

Chu Dau pottery wows APEC guests in Hai Phong
