Thai Binh (VNA) – The People’s Committee of Thai Binh province on January 3announced the Prime Minister’s decision on the establishment of Thai BinhEconomic Zone.

The Thai Binh EconomicZone covers an area of 31,000 hectares in 30 communes and one town in thedistricts of Thai Thuy and Tien Hai.

It is one of 17 economiczones in Vietnam, which functions as both industrial cluster and coastal service-trade-urbanarea. Investors in the zone will receive incentives in line with theGovernment’s policy.

Speaking at the decisionannouncement ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee NguyenHong Dien said this was a very important event, marking the first step offormation and development of the Thai Binh Economic Zone.

Onceoperational, the zone will capitalise on potential in local workforce, land andnatural gas resources, and convenient transport networks, he noted.

The zone isexpected to contribute significantly to the province’s socio-economicdevelopment in the future.

A steeringcommittee for the construction of the Thai Binh Economic Zone will be set upand led by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hong Dien.

Also at theceremony, the establishment of a management board for economic zone andindustrial parks of Thai Binh province was declared, with Vice Chairman of theprovincial People’s Committee Pham Van Ca working as its head.-VNA
