Bangkok (VNA) - The European Union (EU) was satisfied with Thailand’s campaign against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU), said Deputy Prime Minister Chatchai Sarikalya.
The Deputy PM disclosed the EU was pleased with the country’s catch traceability system, adding that Thailand adjusted some regulations to better controlling fishing outside territorial waters.
Deputy PM Chatchai said the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives had sent officials to educate fishermen on the objectives of the campaign against IUU.
Relevant Thai bodies will convene a meeting on the progress of the anti-IUU campaign after the Songkran festival, he added.-VNA
