The festival's thirteenth year willfeature well-known musical talents from Austria, Belgium, France,Germany, Luxembourg, Poland and Sweden as well as a guest band fromVietnam.
With a total of 16 concerts in Hanoi and HCM City, thefestival is expected to offer Vietnamese audiences music from diversegenres, including engaging jazz melodies, classic pieces andcontemporary jams, as well as traditional Vietnamese music. The festivalwill also showcase interactions between European and Vietnamesemusicians.
"Over the past twelve years, the European MusicFestival has established itself as one of the most successful andanticipated annual multicultural events in Vietnam," said DelphineMalard, first counsellor of the Delegation of the European Union toVietnam.
Through unforgettable concerts, the event showcases theunity in diversity and richness of European cultures for the Vietnamesepublic, and promotes cultural exchange.
This year, duoVaiana/Keita from Wallonie-Bruxelles will make a debut on November 22evening. Saxophonist Belgian Pierre Vaiana and Ivorian balafonist AlyKeita will offer a musical dialogue incorporating diverse styles andcultures, along with their guest, the Vietnamese T'rung virtuoso HoaDang.
The festival will close in HCM City on December 5 at thecity's Conservatory of Music with the performance French trio Le Tab,and in Hanoi with the Vietnamese guest band Mat Troi Do (Red Sun) at theYouth Theatre.
Mat Troi Do, Vietnam's leading band, mixesVietnamese pieces with various international genres, and has brought anew charm to Vietnamese traditional music.
