With the service, EVNTelecom subscribers will have faster Internet access.

The company’s service is also compatible with all cell phone models with 3G in the market.

According to Director Pham Duong Minh, EVNTelecom’s 3G services will focus on populated cities, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang and Can Tho.

To widen the service-coverage area, the company has invested in the installation of an additional 5,000 3G base-transceiver stations (Node B) for the second phase, Minh said.

On the occasion, EVNTelecom signed a contract of special 3G general agent with Electricity and Telecom Payment Solutions Joint Stock Company, ECPay, a comprehensive cooperation contract with ASUS computer group and a framework agreement on providing value-added service on 3G network with VTC Digicom.

So far, EVNTelecom has developed nearly 2,500 Node B stations, covering 46 percent of the population. It plans to increase the figure to 7,500 one year after launching 3G service./.
