Exhibition highlights Vietnam’s national reunification

Nearly 150 photos, documents and objects highlighting instances of international support for Vietnam during its revolutionary wars during 1954-1975 will be displayed at an exhibition in Hanoi.
Nearly 150 photos, documents and objects highlighting instances ofinternational support for Vietnam during its revolutionary wars during1954-1975 will be displayed at an exhibition in Hanoi.

Hostedby the Vietnam National Museum of History from April 24, the exhibitionis part of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of southernliberation and national reunification (April 30).

Theexhibition also aims to reflect the assistance from internationalorganisations, conferences and courts of justice in the period.

Onthe occasion, the Museum will also introduce visitors to posters issuedby the former Soviet Union, Cuba, Sweden, Finland, Hungary, Italy andGermany supporting Vietnam in the country’s national reunificationstruggle before 1975.

The exhibition will feature movementslaunched around the world to back Vietnam and contribute to itspolitical, diplomatic and defence successes, bringing about victory onApril 30, 1975 which reunified the country.

It is also to raise public awareness of protecting territorial sovereignty.-VNA

As suggested by UNESCO experts, heritage should be approached as an integrated system encompassing space, people and everyday life. This perspective can inform urban planning, cultural tourism development and the creation of clear economic drivers.

National Radio Festival opens in Quang Ninh

Vietnamese puppetry seeks renewal amid preservation challenges

People’s Artist Nguyen Hoang Tuan, Chairman of the Hanoi Theatre Association, noted that while northern Vietnam had 27 puppetry guilds in 1986, only 14 remain today. Many traditional plays and original scripts have been lost, hurting restoration and preservation efforts.

Project on digital transformation in cultural sector approved

By 2030, the project targets the establishment of shared digital platforms across 100% of cultural sectors. All digitised cultural heritage will be standardised under the national data framework and shared in accordance with regulations, while 80% of public digital heritage assets are expected to receive digital identifiers to clarify ownership and management, encouraging organisations and individuals to do the same and support market development.
