An exhibition introducing important publications in Vietnamese printed between 1865 and 1954 will take place in Hanoi from April 18-21 to celebrate the 150 years of the Vietnamese-language press.

The event will provide insights into the development of the Vietnamese media over the last 15 decades since the publication of Gia Dinh , the first Vietnamese-language newspaper, in Sai Gon on April 15, 1865.

That publication helped introduce the country’s positive elements to the Western world, while promoting the national language.

The celebratory exhibition will be hosted by the online forum sachxua.net, the Dong Tay Culture and Language Centre and the Hanoi Library, among others.-VNA
