An exhibition featuring Vietnam ’s cultural maritime heritage will open in Hanoi on May 18, just one of numerous activities to mark the 122 nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and International Museum ’s Day.

Jointly organised by Vietnam ’s National Museum of History, the National Border Committee and the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Preservation and Management Centre, the exhibition is to highlight Vietnam ’s international maritime history and its sovereignty over its seas and islands.

Visitors will have the chance to learn about the relationship between the island people and their mainland countrymen. It spans from prehistoric times until the present day with many artifacts and important documents on display.

Photographs and documents underlining Vietnam ’s sovereignty over its seas and islands during the 1945 - 1975 period can also be viewed, especially those that relate the country’s borders and territory.-VNA
