Thailand’s Ministry of Energy is currently hosting the LED Expo Thailand 2014 in order to raise public awareness of energy conservation.
The exhibition features various sorts of LED products from different nations — all of which promote energy conservation.
Minister Pongsak Rattanapong-paisan stated that, on average, Thailand has increased its electricity consumption by 3-4 percent per year, which is unsustainable for a country that imports its energy. Therefore, the minister stressed the importance for Thai citizens to know how to effectively and efficiently save energy.
The nation has set a goal of reducing its electricity consumption per product by 25 percent within 20 years, he said, adding that using LED products is one of the ways to help save energy.
The exhibition will last until May 24.-VNA
