Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam will host the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in late 2017 for the first time, which has excited local fans.
According the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s CJ E&M, the organiser, the MAMA Week will take place from November 25 to December 1, with the music award ceremony to take place in three countries.
The 2017 MAMA will start at Hoa Binh Theatre in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City on November 25, Yokohama Arena in Japan on November 29 and W Hotel in Hong Kong (China) on November 30. The Asia World-Expo Arena will be held in Hong Kong on December 1.
The organiser also aims to make the event the greatest festival for everyone who loves music in Asia.
This year will mark the ninth MAMA hosted by CJ E&M. In 1999, it launched the Mnet Videao Music Awards that became MAMA in 2009.
In 2010, the award ceremony became global and was hosted for the first time outside the RoK in Macau, then Singapore in 2011, and Hong Kong from 2012 to 2016.
MAMA is considered a prestigious music award ceremony in Asia, which gathers top singers of the RoK and other countries such as China, Japan, Indonesia, Canada, Singapore and the US.-VNA
