Female footballers get aid in race to World Cup qualifiers

The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has become the official sponsor of the women’s national football team with a hope of helping them gain a ticket to the 2015 Women’s World Cup qualifying round.
The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has become theofficial sponsor of the women’s national football team with a hope ofhelping them gain a ticket to the 2015 Women’s World Cup qualifyinground.

The Vietnam Football Federation said from2014 to 2016, BIDV will provide the team with a maximum of 10 billionVND (476,200 USD) each year for their training and participation ininternational championships.

In the short term,efforts will be made to help the players show a best possibleperformance at the Women’s Asian Cup 2014 so as to earn a ticket to the2015 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

From the thirdplace at the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Indonesia in 1997,the national team won a gold at the SEA Games in Malaysia in 2001.

In the past decade, they have proved themselves acapable team in Asia, following only those from Japan, China,Australia, the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’sRepublic of Korea .

The team now secure the 28th position in the quarterly FIFA world rankings.-VNA

Ukrainian cyclist wins stage 19 of national cycling tournament

Major prehistoric findings in Nghe An reveals ancient rituals
