The Vietnamese Consulate General in Frankfurt in conjunction with the Vietnamese community in Rhein-Main area has held a culture festival themed “the beauty of Vietnam” in Oberursel city in Germany’s Hessen state.
According to Consul General Truong Xuan Thanh, the festival helps give international friends and Vietnamese residents in Germany a deeper insight into Vietnamese cultural values.
Thanh called on the Vietnamese community to integrate deeply into German society, abide by the country’s laws and accustom themselves to local traditions and customs, thus actively contributing to the development and serving as a bridge for closer the friendship between the two countries.
Oberursel's Mayor Hans-Georg Brum said the presence of the Vietnamese community has helped diversify the life in Germany.
Participants enjoyed special dances and songs, a fashion show of Ao dai (traditional long dress) and a special demonstration of martial arts.
Vietnam’s unique handcraft products and cuisine were also introduced during the festival.-VNA
