Twelve award-wining movies are screened during the MovieMov, the first Italian film festival in Vietnam.
Accordingto MovieMov's Art Director Goffredo Bettini, the event introducesdifferent movie genres, from comedy to crime, from romance to feature."However, all the movies are about current social issues that everymodern society is dealing with," he said.
The festival is aspecial opportunity for Vietnamese audiences to learn more about theculture as well as film making style of Italy. It is expected tocontribute to further enhancing the solidarity, friendship andcooperation between the two nations.
Four Vietnamese designers,Hung Viet, Quang Nhat, Vu Tran Duc Hai and Ha Duy, will debut creationsinspired from movies screened during the week.
Viet will presentdesigns inspired by the movie I Can Quit Whenever I Want, while Nhatwill showcase ones inspired by the movie Maraviglioso Boccaccio(Wondrous Boccaccio).
The movies Noi E La Giulia (Julia and Us) and Fasten Your Seatbelts have provided creative ideas for Hai and Duy.
Theevent will also include a fashion exhibition initiated by StefanoDominella – chairman of the famous atelier Maison Gattinoni. EntitledThe Exquisiteness of Gastronomy, Tales about Gastronomy and Fashion, theHanoi exhibition is a part of a much bigger show that is taking placein Mercati Traianei in Roma.
The exhibition displaying clothingby Italy’s leading designers, as well as capsule collections by youngdesigners from both Italy and Vietnam, is taking place from July 21 toAugust 19 at the Casa Italia.
Besides, a range of meetings,seminars and exchanges on the cinema industry and trade promotion withthe participation of numerous experts from both sides will be organised.
Aforum will also be held discussing the cooperation between Vietnam andEuropean countries to make the film festivals a good opportunity topromote cinematic achievements and explore new markets.
The Italy-Vietnam Fashion Council will also organise a master class for young Vietnamese who are passionate about fashion.-VNA
