Festival looks to promote southern delicacies

The fifth Southern Land Cuisine Festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from May 29 to June 1, serving more than 200 local dishes.
The fifth Southern Land Cuisine Festival will take place in Ho ChiMinh City from May 29 to June 1, serving more than 200 local dishes.

The event will be held by the municipal Departmentof Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Agency forSouthern Affairs, and Ho Chi Minh City Travel Association.

A wide range of activities will be held during the event such as acooking contest, a fruit sculpture competition, and a special artperformance highlighting the traditional New Year celebration – CholChnam Thmay of ethnic Khmer people.

An art troupefrom the southern province of Bac Lieu will entertain visitorswith the unique dance of Khmer ethnic people, traditional costumeperformance, water-splashing festival, and folk games.

A rural market is also set up at the festival to introduce visitors to the southern land’s specialties.

The annual festival, to be held at Dam Sen Park, aims to promote theregional gastronomy to domestic and foreign visitors, said Pham HuyBinh, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism.-VNA

Exhibition on President Ho Chi Minh opens at EXPO 2025 in Japan

The exhibition, running from May 23-25, people can watch valuable diplomatic films of the Ho Chi Minh era, and learn about the Nguyen Tat Thanh – Nguyen Ai Quoc's 30-year journey of finding a way to save the country. The event also highlights images of President Ho Chi Minh – a great leader of the Vietnamese people, his legacies at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi.

Vietnamese cultural values promoted in Germany

Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Leipzig Bui Quang Huy said that the event was expected to help the second and third generations of overseas Vietnamese in Germany better understand their roots, and the Vietnamese community in Leipzig to strengthen solidarity.

Bookcase project helps spread Vietnamese language in Thailand

Featuring 600 titles, the bookcase offers a diverse range of content suitable for all ages and proficiency levels. It includes colorful picture books for young children who are beginners in their mother tongue, as well as textbooks and reference materials for students at Vietnamese language schools across Thailand.
