Festival of Ha, Thuong, Y Lan temples named national cultural heritage

A ceremony was held in Tuyen Quang city on March 28 to receive a certificate recognizing the festival of Ha, Thuong and Y La Temples as national intangible cultural heritage.

TuyenQuang (VNA) – A ceremony was held in Tuyen Quang city of the northernmountainous province of the same name on March 28 to receive a certificate recognizingthe festival of Ha, Thuong and Y La Temples as national intangible culturalheritage.

TheMother Goddess palanquin procession ritual dated back a long time ago in closelink with the Mother Goddess worshipping at the three temples.

Thefestival was revived in 2007. It takes place from the 11th day to 16th day of the second lunar month at the three temples.

TheMother Goddess palanquin procession ritual departs from the Y La Temple and theThuong Temple, both to the Ha Temple for a joint ritual.

TheHa Temple and Thuong Temple were built in 1738 and 1767,respectively, and are dedicated to Princess Phuong Dung and Princess Ngoc Lan -Hung King’s daughters.

Thefestival helps promote the unique cultural value of Tuyen Quang city amongdomestic and international visitors.-VNA
