HCM City (VNA) –
Finnish universities have pledged to support Vietnam with high-quality human resource development in information technology (IT) and security.

An agreement to this effect was signed on January 26 by the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) and three universities from Finland, Turku, Tampere and Eastern Finland.

The University of Turku will help the VNU-HCM build and implement training programmes for Masters of global information management and security.

In addition, the Finnish universities will grant full scholarships to Vietnamese students every year under the agreement.

Over the past few years, the Finnish Government launched various programmes and projects to support Vietnam, especially in education and for start-up businesses.

Vietnam is the only Asian country listed in the second phase of Finland’s programme on the exchange of students and university lecturers which has, to date, benefited more than 1,000 Vietnamese students and lecturers.

More than 500 Vietnamese students are studying in Finland, mostly majoring in IT and business administration.-VNA
