Fireworks wow crowds in Da Nang

The Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2015 kicked off in the central city on April 28, drawing five teams from Australia, Poland, the US, South Africa and Vietnam.
The Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2015 kicked off inthe central city on April 28, drawing five teams from Australia, Poland,the US, South Africa and Vietnam.

Themed “Da Nang - Symphony of Colours”, the latter three teams performed on the opening night.

The South African team, Fireworks for Africa, were behind thespectacular opening display at the FIFA World Cup 2010, and they wowedthe large Da Nang crowd with a similarly impressive performance named“Africa’s Blue Sky”; representing a journey through the country’shistory.

The American team, Pyrotechnics, performed a displaytitled “Integral Love” while the host team, Da Nang- Vietnam, closed thenight with its “Symphony of Colour” performance.

Otherfestival activities schedule include the release of 50,000 colourfullanterns, a flower boat parade on the Han River and various artperformances.

The two day fireworks competition is beingbroadcasted live on national and international television channelsincluding Star World, BBC World and National Geographic in Asia.

Launched in 2008, Da Nang is the only city in Vietnam to host the annual competition.-VNA

Project on digital transformation in cultural sector approved

By 2030, the project targets the establishment of shared digital platforms across 100% of cultural sectors. All digitised cultural heritage will be standardised under the national data framework and shared in accordance with regulations, while 80% of public digital heritage assets are expected to receive digital identifiers to clarify ownership and management, encouraging organisations and individuals to do the same and support market development.
