First group of 4,500 Indian tourists arrive in Hanoi

The first group of a large delegation of Indian tourists arrived in Hanoi on August 27, and began their tour through the capital city. See more in the following report.

The 800-visitor delegation is part of a total of 4,500 employees from an Indian pharmaceutical billionaire.

On the first day of their stay in Vietnam, the group visited popular destinations such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Temple of Literature, and Hoa Lo Prison Relic.

The 4,500-lndian group is divided into smaller ones to visit Vietnam in turns. This represents the largest contingent of visitors ever to arrive in the country, significantly surpassing the typical range of 100-200 visitors.

This event is also a significant milestone, underscoring Vietnam as an appealing destination, especially as the number of Indian visitors continues to rise.

According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, Vietnam welcomed 392,000 Indian visitors last year, up 230% compared to 2019.

In the first half of this year, Vietnam served more than 230,000 Indian visitors, up over 160% year-on-year./.
